Michelle L. LaFayette is a partner with the firm.
Michelle represents employers and insurance carriers in the defense of workers’ compensation and subrogation matters before the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission, Circuit and Appellate Courts.
Michelle is a past board member of and served as president of the Workers’ Compensation Lawyers Association in 2022. She is a current member of the Illinois State Bar Association, where she previously served as Chair to the Workers’ Compensation Law Section Council. Michelle has presented on various workers’ compensation related topics at the national, state and local level, as well as authored a number of articles
She earned a Bachelor of Arts in history/political science from Illinois College in 1995 where she graduated Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa. She earned her J.D. from DePaul University College of Law in 2000.
Outside of work, Michelle is an avid reader, has interests in history, especially American history, and is a big fan of the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Blackhawks and Green Bay Packers.
