Ganan & Shapiro is excited to announce Governor Pritzker appointment Jim Bynes to the position of Arbitrator at the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission, effective August 29, 2023.
Jim joined Ganan & Shapiro in 2001, and has been a vital member of our family ever since. He represented clients throughout the State of Illinois, sharing his tremendous legal knowledge with all of us. Jim was always ready to answer questions for anyone, he was integral in the training of new attorneys, and he managed our attorney legal education program. As an Arbitrator, we know Jim will be a fair minded and conscientious arbiter of the law.
Jim spends his spare time with his family and playing saxophone in the “Outcast Jazz Band.” Clients calling our office can hear the Band’s music when on hold and will continue to do so. (Jim said we can continue to use the music, and we are holding him to that promise). Jim is an avid fan of Notre Dame University and the Chicago White Sox, following the teams in the good seasons and the not so good seasons.
We will miss Jim being a part of the Ganan & Shapiro team on a daily basis, but he will always remain a part of our family. Employers and employees in Illinois are lucky to have Jim as an arbitrator.
