Julia A. Murphy is a partner with the firm.

Julia represents employers and insurance carriers in the defense of workers’ compensation and subrogation matters before the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission, Circuit and Appellate Courts.

Julia began her career with Ganan & Shapiro as a law clerk in 2003, before becoming an attorney with the firm. She has served as a guest lecturer for many seminars related to the practice of workers’ compensation defense. Julia is a member of the Workers’ Compensation Lawyers Association and the Illinois State Bar Association.

Julia graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Illinois Wesleyan University in 2002. She earned her J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2005, where she received CALI awards for civil litigation and trial advocacy.

Julia grew up in the Southwest Suburbs of Chicago. In her time away from the office, she enjoys bowling and spending time outdoors with her dogs. Julia is an avid fan of classic cars, and loves attending car shows with their 1970 T/A Challenger.
